MISSION
STATEMENT
The mission of Morris Elementary School District #54 is to provide a
high quality education which encourages lifelong learning and enables
students to develop their academic, social and civic potential.
VALUES AND BELIEFS
1. We believe that all students should have the opportunity to develop
their potential academically, socially, artistically, physically and
emotionally.
2. We believe that all students can learn, become motivated
achievers and have fun in learning.
3. We believe in developing self confidence and self
esteem in our students and also reinforcing ethical and moral values.
4. We believe that the opinions of all members of the
school community should be respected and that our students, parents,
staff and citizens need to have pride in themselves, their schools and
their community.
5. We believe that the quality of education depends
on setting high expectations for students, parents, staff and community.
6. We believe in staff, parent and community involvement
in the shared responsibility of educating our children through open
communication, collaboration, committee work and group decision making
activities.
7. We believe in providing the opportunity for a lifelong
learning experience in a safe, positive, supportive, nurturing and drug
free environment.
8. We believe that the educational process involves
both cooperation and competition.
9. We believe that the curricular and co-curricular
activities associated with our schools should have educational value.
10. We believe our school district must remain responsive
to change in an increasingly technological society.
11. We believe in giving high priority to our instructional
programs and to a quality curriculum.
12. We believe in developing critical thinking skills
and learning to make good decisions.
13. We believe in ongoing development and assessment
